Jesse Lingard's brother sends scathing Man Utd message amid West Ham and Tottenham transfer link

Jesse Lingard's brother took to social media to attack Manchester United as he edges closer to leaving the club. United beat Brentford 3-0 with Lingard named among the substitutes on Monday night.

With the tie settled and 15 minutes remaining in the season's last home game at Old Trafford, interim boss Ralf Rangnick introduced Phil Jones and Edinson Cavani off the bench to hand them a farewell with the duo likely to leave at the end of season, while Nemanja Matic and Juan Mata started the game and were withdrawn to ovations from the home crowd.

But there was no such gesture for Lingard who had risen through the United academy and represented the club at various levels for 20 years. Lingard spent the second half of last season alone with West Ham United and was linked with a permanent transfer to East London last summer but opted to stay in Manchester and fight for his place.

Now with his contract up at the end of the month, Lingard will have the pick of his clubs on a free transfer and has been linked to the Hammers, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United among others. But the manner in which he will depart United has left his family members furious, with his brother Louie Scott posting a scathing message on his private Instagram story.

"20 years of blood sweat and tears, 4 domestic trophies, 3 cup final goals, not even a farewell. No wonder it's Conference League next year," he wrote.

"Attacking players for celebrations when the clubs being sold to the super league ok. Class of 92, Busby Babes, you're ran by people who don't even know the offside trap. Classless and the fans need to realise. Goodnight, godbless!

"Been there since nine years of age and didn't even get a send off!!! Well done bro your family are proud."

Lingard played a major role in West Ham qualifying for the UEFA Europa League last season, a competition which the club find themselves in the semi-final this season. David Moyes' side are 2-1 down to Eintracht Frankfurt heading into Thursday night's second leg in Germany.
