As Dak Prescott returned to practice, Jerry Jones spent part of his week in New York City for the NFL owners annual fall league meeting Tuesday.
That gathering has caused quite the stir.
After expressing his excitement at Prescott’s return during his regular Friday appearance on 105.3 The Fan (KRLD-FM), the Cowboys owner and general manager didn’t deny that he directed a profanity at New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft during the meeting.
According to an ESPN report, Kraft’s majority support of opening up contract negotiations for commissioner Roger Goodell reportedly riled up Jones.
“It’s not surprising to me that it would get out, and certainly when you are in those situations, you express yourself with people you know and people you’re around a lot,” Jones said during his appearance on the K&C Masterpiece. “I would say in this particular case, it’s probably accurate that I did express myself in probably a way that’s not in good taste.”
Jones said he supports Goodell as the league’s commissioner, but takes issue with how his contract might look.
“As a matter of fact, I actually stood up and made a nomination for his potential extension, and then when I heard the structure of how we were going to approach it, then I didn’t agree with that,” Jones said.
The Cowboys owner said he feels no obligation to support other owners when they’re in trouble. When it comes to Washington Commanders owner Dan Synder, Jones said he’s unaware of the issues surrounding talks of his potential ousting from the league.
“I hear the media speculation, but that’s all,” Jones said. “That’s not supported by tangible facts.”
