Jerry Jones doesn’t appear to have any issues with Daniel Snyder

There was a lot of information in last week’s ESPN report regarding Washington Commanders owner Daniel Snyder. From Snyder saying he had “dirt” on other owners to reportedly hiring private investigators to look into other owners, there was a lot to unpack.

One of the more interesting nuggets from the report was Snyder’s relationship with Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. Jones has always been Snyder’s closest confidante in owner’s circles, but the report discussed a strain in the relationship.

Snyder had reportedly asked Jones on multiple occasions to “have his back” with the other owners, with Jones supposedly telling people close to him that he “might not be able to protect” Snyder anymore. In turn, the report suggested Snyder had dirt on Jones and badmouthed him to other owners.

In a statement from the team, Snyder’s lawyers denied a falling out with Jones.

Now, Jones has responded — sort of.

In his weekly radio appearance on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas, Snyder was asked about the aforementioned ESPN report regarding his relationship with Snyder.

“I don’t have anything to say about it other than I don’t know where people got the supposed resource from me,” Jones said per Jon Machota of The Athletic. Anything in that was news to me. If anybody wants to put something in my car or listen on the phone, get in line.”

Jones was then asked if he believed the NFL wanted to get rid of Snyder.

“I do not,” Jones said. “And that’s all I’ve got to say about it. But I do not.”

Those who want Snyder gone will see this as a negative. Don’t. What was Jones supposed to say?

The NFL owner’s meetings begin on Tuesday and, despite nothing about Snyder’s situation being on the agenda, it will be interesting if we hear any news regarding the Washington owner in the following days.
