Doubtful Jermaine Jenas has poured scorn on Chris Sutton after he compared Celtic's playing style to Manchester City.
The Parkhead legend was waxing lyrical about Ange Postecoglou's side as he named the Premiership champions and their thrilling brand of football as his favourite thing of 2022 during half-time of BT Sport's live goal show. Sutton has been effusive in his praise of Celtic under the Australian's stewardship.
Speaking on BT Sport Score, Sutton said: "You have Robbie's team Macclesfield, who were brutal to watch, and then you watch Angeball up in Scotland. The way the team play, they way he has progressed the club and moved them on. The brand of football, they are so similar to Manchester City in the way they play. He has improved them so much." It’s a point Hibs manager Lee Johnson recently alluded to when he explained Man City are the only side he has faced who have been better than Celtic.
But that view wasn't agreed on by Jenas who instantly jumped in, saying: "You better stop talking right now, I am not having that." The conversation quickly moved on but the former Newcastle and Tottenham star made clear he wasn't buying Sutton's lofty comparison.
