Former Gold Coast winger Jeremy Sharp and ex-Hawthorn utility Lachlan Bramble have been given AFL career lifelines through the pre-season supplemental selection period.
WA product Sharp has returned to his home state to join Fremantle, while Bramble has been picked up by the Western Bulldogs.
Both players are already training with their new clubs.
Sharp was the subject of trade negotiations between the Dockers and Suns a year ago but remained with Gold Coast in 2023.
The 22-year-old was part of the Suns' VFL premiership team this year but did not add to the 23 AFL games he played during his first three seasons at the club.
He could find a spot on the wing with Fremantle next year after Liam Henry's move to St Kilda.
"He has a combination of speed and endurance with good acceleration," Fremantle list boss David Walls said.
"His height (187cm) allows him to fold back into defence where he likes to help out and he's good overhead."
Subject to AFL approval, Fremantle will also place forwards Sebit Kuek and Josh Corbett on the long-term injury list to open up two more list spots ahead of the 2024 season.
Bramble played 30 games over three years with Hawthorn but wasn't offered a contract for next season despite strong VFL form.
The 25-year-old attracted interest from other clubs but chose not to nominate for the national or rookie drafts, allowing him to join the Bulldogs through the supplemental selection period.
Melbourne have recalled a familiar face, signing Marty Hore after the defender spent two years away from the club.
Hore missed the 2021 season with a knee injury before joining North Melbourne as a rookie in 2022 and starring for VFL club Williamstown this year.
The 27-year-old was named in the VFL team-of-the-year in 2022 and '23.
"Marty has had a really strong two years in the VFL," Demons list boss Tim Lamb said.
"We have kept a close eye on what he's been able to produce and believe he has a lot to offer our program."
