Jeremy Renner was reportedly 'helping a stranded motorist' before his was 'run over by his snow plough' during the horror incident which left him in intensive care.
The Avengers star, 51, has undergone two surgeries and remains in intensive care after suffering serious injuries in the horror weather-related accident.
He suffered "blunt chest trauma and orthopaedic injuries" in a snow ploughing accident near his home and is now reportedly "conscious, stable and speaking".
Jeremy was seriously injured in the terrifying ordeal outside his Lake Tahoe ranch, and now the mayor of Reno has released a statement, claiming the actor was helping a motorist in need.
Mayor Hillary Schieve said he was "helping someone stranded in the snow". She explained that Jeremy is "always helping others".
She told the Reno Gazette-Journal that she is a friend of Jeremy's and was called about the accident shortly after it happened on Sunday morning near the Mt. Rose Highway in Neveda.
A statement from the Washoe County Sheriff's Office reads: "At approximately 9:00am on January 1, 2023, the Washoe County Sheriff's Office responded to a traumatic injury in the area of Mt. Rose Highway in Reno, Nevada.
"Upon arrival, Deputies coordinated with Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health to arrange for medical transport of Mr. Jeremy Renner via care flight to a local area hospital.
"Mr. Renner was the only involved party in the incident.
"The Washoe County Sheriff's Office Major Accident Investigation Team is currently looking into the circumstances of the incident."
Jeremy's family have also spoken out to thank the "incredible doctors and nurses looking after him" and his Marvel co-stars have sent their thoughts and prayers to Jeremy.
"We can confirm that Jeremy has suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopaedic injuries and has undergone surgery today, January 2nd 2023," his reps said in a statement.
The statement, provided to the PA news agency, continued: "Jeremy’s family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible doctors and nurses looking after him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve and the Carano and Murdock families.
"They are also tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans."
