Jeremie Frimpong's life after Celtic skyrockets as Barcelona and two more superclubs eye transfer blockbuster

Jeremie Frimpong is attracting interest from Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona according to reports in Germany.

But it appears his dream move to Chelsea is off the cards for now after the UK Government slapped a trading ban on the Stamford Bridge side.

Frimpong joined Celtic from Manchester City in a £300,000 deal back in 2019 but only made 51 appearances before Bayer Leverkusen came calling.

Just 18 months after signing on at Parkhead he left for the Bundesliga in an eye-watering £11.5m deal.

That move saw Man City bank a significant chunk of the fee, taking home 30 per cent of the profit on the deal.

Celtic may be in line for some additional windfall should Frimpong move on again although it's unclear what percentage of any potential fee they may bank.

SPORT1 say the Bundesliga's top two, as well as Barca, are all keen on signing him in the summer.

It was reported on Thursday by Bild that Frimpong wasn't keen on any of those three - seeing Chelsea as his preferred next destination.

He's a boyhood Chelsea fan and it was said he was "captivated" by a potential move to Stamford Bridge.

But sanctions placed on owner Roman Abramovich mean they can't put money on the table until May 31 at the earliest - and potentially further than that if the Russian invasion of Ukraine doesn't subsist.

That casts any potential move to the West London team into doubt and Frimpong may now be considering his options if another major club has a bid accepted.
