Jeremiah Smith laughs at PFF who questioned if Jermod McCoy could cover him

Jeremiah Smith went off against the Tennessee Volunteers in Ohio State football’s first-ever home playoff game. The Buckeyes, who were the slimmest favorite in the first round, throttled the Volunteers 42-17.

Will Howard led the charge with 311 yards and two passing touchdowns. Both of those passing touchdowns went to Jeremiah Smith, who ended with six receptions for 103 yards.

For comparison on just how good Smith was, Tennessee quarterback Nico Iamaleava ended the game with just 104 passing yards.

Smith went off, and he made sure Pro Football Focus, who questioned whether or not Smith could get the best of Tennessee cornerback Jermod McCoy, knew about his success Saturday evening.

The Buckeyes ended up with a multi-score win and will now get a battle with the Oregon Ducks on January 1.

A rematch from earlier on in the season, the Buckeyes will get the top-ranked Ducks on a neutral field this time around, which should bode well for Ohio State, which lost by just one point earlier in the season.

Expect another big game from Smith, who has cemented himself as the best freshman receiver in college football.
