Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah says Steelers will be a tough out in Week 3

After laying an egg against the New York Jets last Sunday, the Cleveland Browns are focused on avoiding another meltdown against the division rival Pittsburgh Steelers. Players at every position have taken the criticism they’ve received over the past few days to heart and are seeking to prove that this team won’t end up being the same-old-Browns.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, second-year linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah explained that the Steelers pose a very real threat to the Browns’ hopes of getting back over .500, and told the media that Pittsburgh has a very well-coached and disciplined squad.

“It is an offense that has been pretty efficient,” He said. “An offense that is well-coached. A bunch of guys, a bunch of skill players who are good. They have a decent line. They are a solid team, and they are experienced and able to use those to their benefit.”

Cleveland will be hard-pressed to emerge from tomorrow’s matchup as the victors if they make the same mistakes they made against New York in Week 2. Blown coverages, miscommunications, and lackadaisical play calling will doom their efforts against a team as established as the Steelers, especially in a road game on a short week of preparation.

The Browns have shown an ability to compete in 2022, even if their current 1-1 record isn’t where they’d like it to be after two weeks. Both games they’ve played so far have shown the team’s high ceiling and low floor for performance, and now they must look to pick up the pieces of a devastating loss to maximize their ability to play consistently good football.

If they can do that, Cleveland might surprise some folks around the league in primetime tomorrow with a big win against a Steelers team that should be beatable with a sound strategy and the proper adjustments throughout the matchup.
