Jennifer Lopez recently shared insights into her wedding look from her marriage to Ben Affleck. The star discussed her iconic fashion choices over the years in a video with Vogue, shedding light on the details of her wedding dress.
The dress, a variation of Ralph Lauren's classic turtleneck column dress, featured a voluminous ruffle skirt created by sewing a thousand handkerchiefs. Lopez described her vision for the dress as a blend of traditional Latin and Southern Belle styles, which she felt was successfully achieved by the stylists. However, she mentioned that the dress was challenging to move in due to its weight and long train.
Ralph Lauren designed three dresses for Lopez's wedding: a ceremony dress, a reception dress, and a performance dress. The reception looks included a chandelier pearl gown with intricate pearl and Swarovski crystal detailing, as well as a mermaid silhouette gown with a keyhole neckline and removable hood.
The wedding ceremony took place at Lopez and Affleck's home in Georgia, following a week of celebrations with family and friends. The couple had previously exchanged vows in a private Las Vegas wedding, where Lopez clarified that she did not wear the same dress from the movie 'Jersey Girl,' as rumored.
She explained that she had multiple wedding dresses at home from film projects and chose one of those for the spontaneous Vegas ceremony. Lopez emphasized that the dress was not from a movie and had never been worn on-screen.
