Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck were overcome with emotion during their low-key nuptials in Las Vegas and “cried to each other”.
The pair made their relationship official at the weekend at Sin City’s famous Little White Wedding Chapel - 20 years after they had first planned to walk down the aisle.
Lopez announced their wedding in a post on her website, On The JLo, and now a chapel worker has shared several details about the Hollywood couple’s “sleek and beautiful” event.
Speaking to Good Morning America, chapel worker Kenosha Portis, shared how the pair and their family had turned up to the venue just as it was closing.
Portis began: “As they were reading each of their vows, they were very sweet. They both were emotional, they cried to each other.
“The kids were right there behind them. She had on a nice elegant beige lacy-type dress, it had a train on it. The veil was beautiful, everything was very sleek and beautiful. She was stunning.”
Only Lopez’s two children and her mother were present, along with Affleck’s three children from his previous marriage to actress Jennifer Garner.
The Maid In Manhattan actress and Good Will Hunting actor announced their engagement in April, 18 years after they originally called off their wedding.
They rekindled their relationship last year.
The couple collectively known as “Bennifer” obtained a marriage license in Clark County, Nevada on Saturday and exchanged vows in a “super small” ceremony in the early hours of Sunday.
While Lopez signed off her fan address as “Mrs Jennifer Lynn Affleck”, official documents obtained by TMZ show she will be adopting her new husband’s last name officially.
According to the US news outlet, The Clark County Recorder’s Office show she intends to change her name to “Jennifer Affleck” but the marriage certificate has yet to be filed.
Earlier this week, it was reported the couple will celebrate their marriage at the same venue they planned to wed at 20 years ago.
The newlyweds are said to be planning a wedding party with their friends and family at Affleck’s $9million (£7.48million) estate in Georgia, the same spot they had originally planned to marry at in 2002 before they called off the nuptials.
The Oscar-winning star purchased the home in 2003 when he was still with Lopez and paid just over $7million (£5.8million) for the property in the coastal town of Riceboro, an hour’s drive outside of Savanna, Georgia.
Affleck previously listed the 87 acre property in 2019 for almost $9million, but it has yet to have been sold and now the pair are revisiting it for their wedding party 20 years on.
The sprawling estate features several homes, including a 10,000 square foot, two story main house and a smaller, 6,000 square foot home.
PEOPLE did not name when or where the couple’s second celebration will take place, but TMZ reported that the event will take place in the next few “weeks”.
