Jennifer Lopez is reportedly showing husband Ben Affleck that "she's the boss" following their recent clashes over money.
The couple, who married in 2021 after rekindling their romance have had a rocky start to their marriage and have previously been pictured in tense conversations.
In a recent turn of events, sources have shared that the couple have "clashed over money" since buying their luxury $49million mansion.
Insiders close to the couple revealed that Jennifer had "paid for most of it," in regards to their new pad. "Jen's paid for most if not all of it, saying it was the small price to pay for their future happiness.
"If it means it gets her off the hook for having all of the expensive cars, the hired help, day-to-day outgoings on personal trainers, beauty treatments, chefs and fancy yachts then she's OK with fronting the money," the source told Closer.
"Especially as she gets to call the shots and remind Ben that she's the boss."
Meanwhile another source has added more fuel to the fire, claiming that spending is one of the couple's "big issues."
"Ben has been moaning for a while now that he can't keep up with Jen's spending and nor should he have to - it's one of their big issues.
"He's always enjoyed spoiling himself, but she takes it to a whole new level. It's ironic that she made this big thing out of tying the knot at a low key event," the insider shared.
"The reality was that, almost right away, she was rolling out the mega yachts, buying fleets of cars and insisting on this A-list couple lifestyle, and Ben didn't have any say in the matter.
"Their friends think it's pretty sad that she needs to essentially buy her way back into his affections, and that it says a lot about how rocky and superficial things are between them right now?"
The revelation comes after dating coach Katie Mansfield exclusively told us that the "reality phase has begun" for the newly weds.
"It seems like the Honeymoon period has ended, and the reality phase has begun!
"In relationships it generally takes 6-12 months to play out the rose tinted versions of each other, and then after a year or so the reality of who the person really is creeps in," Katie added.
"This can be heightened in celebrity relationships due to the excitement and fantasy aspect of their lifestyles."
