Jennifer Aniston 'forced to cancel London birthday party after Chiltern Firehouse pulls booking'

Jennifer Aniston’s plans for a London birthday celebration have reportedly been thrown into doubt after the Chiltern Firehouse cancelled her booking at short notice.

The actress had been reportedly due to mark her 57th birthday next week with an invitation-only party at the Marylebone hotspot and was expected to fly into the UK in the coming days.

However, sources now suggest the venue is not yet in a position to host guests following last year’s fire, with extensive repair work still ongoing.

Chiltern Firehouse was forced to close in February 2025 after a blaze, reportedly sparked by a pizza oven, tore through the ground floor of the Grade II-listed former Marylebone Fire Station, causing significant damage.

While the hotel had been expected to reopen sooner, it is now understood that renovations are far from complete.

As a result, Aniston is said to be reconsidering her birthday plans, with The Sun reporting that it remains unclear whether she will still celebrate in the UK.

The Standard has contacted a rep for Jennifer Aniston and Chiltern Firehouse for comment.

Since opening in 2013, the restaurant and boutique hotel, where rooms can cost up to £5,000 a night, has become a fixture of London’s celebrity circuit.

Over the years it has welcomed the likes of Sienna Miller, Noel Gallagher, Kate Moss and Princess Beatrice,.

The Chiltern Firehouse building, originally constructed in 1889, is owned by American hotelier André Balazs, who also runs Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles and the Sunset Beach Hotel in New York.

Its guest list has previously included Madonna, Tom Cruise, Rihanna and Leonardo DiCaprio, while Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were reportedly spotted there before their relationship became public.

In October, it was reported that company accounts pointed to a provisional reopening date of April 2027.

Documents obtained by City AM stated: “On 14 February, 2025, the hotel suffered a fire which has resulted in the hotel needing to close for refurbishment and claim on both buildings and business interruption insurance policies. On both policies the insurer has accepted liability and has made initial payments on account in meaningful sums.

“Under the business interruption policy the hotel is covered for three years loss of earnings whilst the refurbishment takes place and therefore the company expects to see no material drop in profits.

“This allows the company to fully re-instate the property whilst still earning the same forecasted revenues for the period of closure up until the point where earnings match the forecasted earnings within the same period.”
