Jennifer Aniston breaks golden ITV This Morning rule forcing Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield to apologise

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield are no strangers to having to issue an apology or two on This Morning either for themselves or for their guests. And this time it was Jennifer Aniston who fell foul of the TV golden rules as she appeared on the ITV daytime show alongside Adam Sandler ahead of the release of their new film.

The pair are set to star together in Murder Mystery 2, the sequel to their hugely popular Netflix film, and were on hand to chat to the hosts all about it live from a hotel in Paris. But it wasn't long before things descended into absolute chaos as Friends icon Jennifer got a little too excited and swore.

The Hollywood star, 54, made the blunder when she was describing what life was like on set with Happy Gilmore actor Adam. Jennifer used the phrase 's***s and giggles' in her answer before instantly clamping a hand over her mouth and wondered if the show was in fact live.

It was over to Holly and Phillip to inform her that they were in fact live on daytime TV. It was Holly, 42, who quickly apologised for the language as her co-host Philip, 60, burst out laughing beside her. But when Jennifer, who is famed for playing Rachel Green in the American sitcom friends and countless other TV and film roles, suggested they could bleep that part out, Phillip dutifully informed the star that they were unable to do so as it was too late.

"We love it, we love it, it’s fine!" Phillip added reassuring the mortified US star. Adam then jumped in, trying to reassuring Jennifer by saying: "At least you said giggles, there was happiness after it."

The slip up came after Adam was telling the hosts and viewers about how he pretended to push Jen off of the tower during filming." He said: "There's real, there's some creation, but Jennifer was scared to fall off the Eiffell Tower. They called 'action' and she didn't jump so I just pushed her. It was just fun to see her reaction."

Jennifer and Adam burst out laughing before Phillip sarcastically said: "Well, I can imagine. Someone pretending to push you off the top of the Eiffel Tower. What fun!" It is then she added: "Yeah, just for sh** and giggles."

One said: ""S**ts and Giggles!" was the best part of the interview! Love Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler together. They are brilliant! #ThisMorning." Another wrote: "Jennifer saying s**ts and giggles on live TV has cracked me up. I love this woman #ThisMorning."

A third posted: "Jennifer Aniston saying s**ts & giggles then saying you can bleep that out. No hun, it’s live #ThisMorning." Another viewer shared: "#ThisMorning Oh how I love Jennifer Aniston! She is so funny." A fifth laughed: "Jennifer Aniston swearing on live daytime TV hahaha #ThisMorning."
