Jennifer Aniston has announced the death of her actor father, John Anthony Aniston.
The Friends icon told fans on Instagram the sad news today after her dad passed away on Friday, at the age of 89.
Jennifer, 53, called her dad "sweet papa" as she updated followers on her loss.
Jennifer wrote: "Sweet papa… John Anthony Aniston. You were one of the most beautiful humans I ever knew.
"I am so grateful that you went soaring into the heavens in peace - and without pain. And on 11/11 no less!
"You always had perfect timing. That number will forever hold an even greater meaning for me now. I’ll love you till the end of time."
She added: "Don’t forget to visit."
She shared a slew of pictures of the two of them together alongside the heartfelt tribute to the Days of Our Lives star.
John was best known for his role as Victor Kiriakis on the hugely popular US soap, which he played from July 1985 and starred in for more than three decades.
He won a Daytime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2017 and he received a Daytime Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022.
The late star was honoured with a Daytime Emmy lifetime achievement award earlier this year.
Jennifer was the one to present the award to her father in June this year - calling the moment 'truly special' as she delivered a pre-recorded speech.
"It’s an opportunity to not only pay tribute to a true icon in the daytime television world, but it’s also a chance to recognise the lifelong achievement of a great and well respected actor who also happens to be my dad," the star said. "John Aniston has been working in television consistently for over half a century."
She went on to list John's many TV appearances over the years - joking her father had appeared in "nearly every soap opera imaginable."
"You name it, I’m sure he’s been on it," Aniston joked when presenting her father with his honour. "But since 1985, his TV home has been with the cast and crew of the long running soap opera ‘Days of Our Lives,’ where he has given masterful performances as the dangerously handsome, perpetually suave businessman Victor Kiriakis."
John shared Jennifer with his ex-wife Nancy Dow, who passed away in May 2016.
After 11 years of marriage, he walked out on Nancy in 1979, when Jennifer was ten years old.
John also had a son, Alexander, with his second wife, Sherry Rooney whom he met while co-starring on Love of Life.
Since his career began in 1962, John has also had roles in Search For Tomorrow, Star Trek: Voyager, The West Wing, Gilmore Girls and Mad Men.
