Jeff McNeil has been added to the New York Mets' roster for the NL Championship Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers following his recovery from a broken right wrist. McNeil sustained the injury on September 6 when he was hit by a pitch from Cincinnati’s Brandon Williamson. After a period of rehabilitation, McNeil made his return to action this weekend for Scottsdale in the Arizona Fall League, where he showed promising performance at the plate and in the field.
On the other side, the Dodgers made some adjustments to their roster for the upcoming series. Pitcher Alex Vesia and infielder Miguel Rojas were omitted from the roster due to injuries. Vesia experienced rib cage cramping during warm-ups in the previous game, while Rojas has been dealing with a left-thigh strain that caused him to miss the final two games against the Padres. In their place, outfielder Kevin Kiermaier and pitcher Brent Honeywell were added to the Dodgers' roster after sitting out the NLDS.
