Manchester United fans have been left delighted by the news Zara founder Amancio Ortega has registered his interest in buying the club.
The 86-year-old is worth $61.3billion, according to Forbes, and MEN Sport understands that he has informed senior executives at United that he is interested in buying the club. His interest comes following the Glazers' announcement that they are open to selling the Reds.
In a statement, the Glazer family explained that they were looking for outside funding to enhance growth. "As part of this process, the board will consider all strategic alternatives, including new investment into the club, a sale, or other transactions involving the company," the statement read.
