Jedward ditch the hairspray as they reunite with Hollywood actress BFF after Queen backlash

Jedward ditched their famous hairspray look as they reunited with their Hollywood best friend Tara Reid.

The X Factor stars, who recently received backlash for their comments on the late Queen Elizabeth II, were known for their incredibly unique hairsprayed quiffs when they rose to fame in the singing competition in 2009.

As the years went by, the 30-year-old twins moved on from the stiff locks to a more neutral style.

The Irish duo - real names John and Edward Grimes - were pictured with American Pie actress Tara in Los Angeles.

Jedward and Tara looked as close as ever as they posed for photos at the Fashion Life Tour at LA's Alexandria Hotel.

Both lads' hair was shaved at the side as they rocked a bleached blonde 'do that covered their foreheads.

John looked suave in a black shirt and trousers and added some personality with a gold suit jacket.

Edward kept it equally sparkly in a silver shirt with a red sleeveless leather jacket.

Tara - who they met on UK's Celebrity Big Brother back in 2011 - matched the vibe with a strapless black dress with a thigh-high slit.

The trio have been close friends since meeting all those years ago and even spend time in each other's homes for the holidays.

Their latest meet-up comes after they were criticised for their 'anti-monarchy' tweets following the Queen's death.

"Abolish the monarchy and give the people real democracy!" they tweeted.

A day later, as the Queen's coffin travelled from Balmoral to Edinburgh, they were back to remind people "in denial about Britain’s Imperialist past" that they "need to get a grip".

They earlier posted: "Hi Royalists - British Imperialism was the cause of the Irish famine and millions of deaths around the world. We mourn for them. Sincerely, Ireland."

Soon, they added : "Victims of colonisation are entitled to express how they feel! Beyond all the celebratory royal posts & propaganda the majority DGAF."

Supporters of the Queen took to Twitter and caused 'Abolish Jedward' to trend after they insisted they won't stop making their point.

The duo were dubbed 'talentless', 'obnoxious' and 'irrelevant' following the numerous outbursts.

Jedward even received death threats for sharing their opinion on the matter.
