Fresh off her recent Emmys win, Jean Smart is set to kick off the landmark 50th season of “Saturday Night Live” as the host of the premiere episode on September 28. This marks Smart's first time hosting the iconic comedy show, bringing her comedic talents to a new audience. Joining her on the first show will be Jelly Roll, who will be making his debut performance on 'SNL' as the musical act. Jelly Roll had also appeared at the Emmys, singing during the ceremony's in memoriam segment.
Following Smart's debut, comedian Nate Bargatze will take the hosting reins on October 5, with Coldplay set to perform as the musical guest. The lineup continues with Ariana Grande hosting on October 12, ahead of her starring role in the upcoming “Wicked” film adaptation, and music legend Stevie Nicks performing.
