JD Vance Supports Trump's Use Of Military Against Riots

Republican Ohio Senate candidate JD Vance speaks as Republican presidential candidate former President Donald Trump listens at a campaign rally at Wright Bros. Aero Inc. at Dayton International

Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance has expressed his support for former President Donald Trump's suggestion of using the National Guard or military to address potential riots following the 2024 election. Vance defended the idea, stating that deploying such assets would be justifiable in the event of widespread rioting, looting, and city destruction.

Vance highlighted the presence of a group of far-left activists who, according to him, have engaged in harassment and violence against fellow Americans in previous instances, such as during the aftermath of George Floyd's death in 2020.

Furthermore, Vance backed Trump's comments regarding Minnesota Governor Tim Walz's handling of the riots in Minneapolis, emphasizing that while Trump's praise may have been polite, it does not absolve Walz of the responsibility for the city's damage.

Addressing Trump's remarks about Detroit, Vance defended the former president's criticism by stating that Detroit residents are proud of their city but acknowledge the challenges it faces due to past national leadership failures. Vance emphasized the importance of strong leadership for Detroit to realize its full potential.

In a separate event, Trump warned about the potential consequences of Vice President Kamala Harris winning the 2024 election, drawing a parallel to the challenges faced by Detroit. Trump's remarks underscored his concerns about the country's future under certain leadership.
