Vice President JD Vance has reportedly been identified as the anonymous source behind a POLITICO story that the Trump administration later cited as one of six incidents in its justification for banning the outlet from the White House.

Status reported on Wednesday that Vance was the unnamed 'senior administration official' quoted in a June story about the chances of reaching a preliminary deal with Iran. The White House has not confirmed that Vance was the official.
