During a speech at a Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Pennsylvania, Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance launched a scathing critique of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, accusing him of dishonesty and questioning his suitability for the vice presidency.
Vance emphasized that his criticisms were not aimed at disparaging Walz's 24 years of service but rather focused on what he perceived as dishonesty in Walz's actions. He specifically called out Vice President Kamala Harris for supporting Walz despite the allegations of dishonesty.
Addressing the audience at VFW Post 92 in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, Vance stated, “If Kamala Harris wants to lead this country, she ought to stand before the media and answer why Tim Walz lied, and why she’s now trying to say that he’s the victim, that we are somehow attacking Tim Walz’s service.”
Vance clarified that the criticism was directed at the perceived dishonesty surrounding Walz's service, rather than his actual service record. He asserted that dishonesty in such matters was dishonorable and unsuitable for someone aspiring to the vice presidency.
Concluding his remarks, Vance reiterated his stance by stating, “We’re not attacking his honorable service. We’re attacking the dishonesty about that service. That is not honorable. That is the height of dishonor, and Tim Walz should not be the vice president of the United States because of it.”
The speech by JD Vance at the VFW post highlighted the intensifying political rhetoric as the election season progresses, with candidates and their supporters engaging in heated exchanges over issues of honesty and integrity.
