JD Vance was booed mercilessly by a classical music audience as he took his seat at Washington DC’s Kennedy Center on Thursday evening.

Joined by his wife Usha, the vice president of the US waved as the ensuing jeering drowned out announcements being made as the orchestra waited to play numbers by Shostakovich and Stravinsky.
