Ohio Sen. JD Vance, who is running as the Republican vice presidential candidate, recently shared details of a phone call he had with former President Donald Trump regarding Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign strategies.
Vance recounted that during the call, Trump expressed his observation that Harris was attempting to align herself with their shared viewpoints on various issues. He described Harris' approach as a 'copycat campaign,' where she was seemingly trying to mimic Trump's positions to gain support.
Speaking at Team Hardinger, a trucking and warehousing company in Erie, Pennsylvania, Vance mentioned that Trump pointed out Harris' recent efforts to portray herself as in agreement with him on every issue. Vance humorously suggested that Harris might be eyeing his own position, implying that she could be positioning herself to run alongside Trump in the future.
As Harris and her running mate Tim Walz prepared for their first joint interview with a local news channel, Vance emphasized the importance of reminding Americans about Harris' 'real record.' He indicated a need to highlight Harris' past actions and decisions to provide a comprehensive understanding of her political background.
Responding to a question about debate preparation, Vance expressed confidence in his approach. He stated that rather than focusing solely on preparing for a debate with Walz, the primary focus should be on engaging with the American people. Vance emphasized the significance of connecting with voters as a crucial aspect of readiness for the upcoming debate scheduled for October 1st.
