Bihar: JD(U) reconstitutes its state-level cells

PATNA: Nearly two-and-a-half months after dissolving its all 33 state-level cells, JD(U) on Sunday reconstituted 12 fresh cells in a bid to strengthen its organizational structure in Bihar keeping in mind the next Lok Sabha polls in 2024 and the assembly polls in 2025. The party also appointed state presidents for all the 12 fresh cells.

Sources in the JD(U) said the party has now decided to keep a limited number of cells to avoid overlapping in the jurisdiction of different cells. Last year, the party had created 33 state-level cells, leading to overlapping in their area of work.

Earlier on November 17 last year, JD(U) state president Umesh Singh Kushwaha dissolved the party’s all 33 cells including Yuva JD(U), Mahila JD(U) and Chhatra JD(U) and their all units- right from block-level to the state-level; almost three-and-a-half months after Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh became the party’s national president replacing RCP Singh. All the 33 dissolved cells were constituted in the month of March and April in 2021 at the directive of the party’s then national president RCP Singh. But they were dissolved in one stroke in November last at the directive of new national president Lalan Singh.
