JD Sports eyes Glasgow Buchanan Street and could take over two major retail units for superstore

JD Sports Glasgow Buchanan Street Gap Glasgow City Council Paperchase

Two major retail units on Buchanan Street could soon be turned into one massive sports shop.

JD Sports have submitted plans to take over the former home of Gap and Paperchase on the busy shopping street. Paperchase moved from its flagship store last year as the company was on the "brink of collapse" after lockdown.

The company instead opted for a smaller store across from the Apple Store while Gap closed all of its UK and Ireland stores in a move to online only.
