Second-year Utah Jazz coach Will Hardy slammed his team’s performance in the wake of a 147–97 loss to the Mavericks on Wednesday night in Dallas.
“That was an absolutely horrendous performance from start to finish,” Hardy said. “That was a masterpiece of dogs---. It seemed like the Mavericks were moving at a different pace than we were from start to finish.”
Ouch.
The 50-point loss dropped the Jazz to 7-14 on the season. It was the franchise’s second-worst loss ever, behind only a 56-point defeat at the hands of the Bucks in 1979 when the franchise was based in New Orleans.

Mavericks star Luka Dončić finished with 40 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists in just three quarters of action and moved into ninth on the career triple-doubles list with 60.
The 50-point loss is the latest data point in a season full of road woes for Utah. The Jazz dropped to 1-11 away from home this season. The 10 road losses is tied for the worst mark in the NBA.
