The Boston Celtics’ championship parade is today, which means it’s time for the team to take a victory lap on everyone who’d ever doubted them.
That especially applies to Jaylen Brown, who was crowned both the Eastern Conference Finals MVP and the NBA Finals MVP on the way to winning his first world championship with the Celtics. Now that he’s won and done it at the highest level possible, it’s time to flex in every way possible.
That’s exactly what he’s doing. He’s also got a particular target in mind: It’s Stephen A. Smith.
Smith was one of the Celtics’ main critics during their run this season. One of his latest points of criticism was that Jaylen Brown was “not marketable” because of his “big ego.” Smith said he’d gotten that from an NBA source. “It’s not so much that he’s underrated,” Stephen A.’s source texted him. “He’s just not liked.”
Brown’s response? “State your source,” he tweeted at Stephen A.

Fast-forward a few weeks, and there are a whole bunch of people in Boston who seem to like Brown a lot. He still wants to know who that source is, though. At least if his t-shirt is any indication he does, anyway.

What a flex, Jaylen Brown.
