To this point in the season Washington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels has been far and away the best of the first year signal callers in the league. Last night on Thursday Night Football however, Daniels showed signs of slowing down during what has been one of the better rookie seasons in recent memory.

While Daniels wasn’t terrible on the night it was certainly a far cry from what we have seen to this point in the season. Daniels was ultimately held to 191 yards through the air and a single touchdown while being shut down on the ground with 18 yards on 7 carries. Daniels also through a game sealing interception late into the fourth quarter to punctuate his struggles.
With two games in a row that Daniels has been more or less shut down he will hope to bounce back and continue where he was earlier in the season. The Commanders are clearly in a good position under Daniels, but as teams understand how to defend him more, games like this are bound to happen. Daniels will look to bounce back next weekend against another division rival in the Dallas Cowboys.
