Jayden Daniels is having a historically epic start to his NFL career at QB

The No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft has been the easy No. 1 overall rookie through the first four weeks. Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels is off to a sensational start in leading his team to a surprising 3-1 record.

Daniels is completing an astonishing 82 percent of his passes through the first four games. That’s the highest in league history for that timeframe. He’s bolstered that with an absurd efficiency in the last two games, both wins for Washington.

In those two games, Daniels has completed 47 of his 53 passes (88.7%) for 487 yards. He has thrown one interception during that time, but also three touchdowns. He’s also run 20 times for 86 yards and two touchdowns in leading the Washington offense to scores on 15 of 17 drives and 80 total points.

The Commanders offense, as designed by coordinator Kliff Kingsbury, has been chided for being too “college”, but it’s been a perfect fit for Daniels, who was the best player in college football in 2023 and is showing the skills to stay successful in the NFL early on.
