Jay Donnelly has responded to criticism after swearing live on Sky Sports following Glentoran's win over Cliftonville.
Donnelly scored twice as the Glens came from behind to earn a 2-1 victory at Solitude.
It was a high-octane thriller in North Belfast as Glentoran withstood a late barrage of pressure from the Reds in the dying stages.
Donnelly did a post-match interview with Sky Sports presenter Graham Little and could be heard using the f-word when interacting with some spectators behind the camera.
The 26-year-old came in for some criticism on social media, but the former Cliftonville forward said "emotions are high and clearly I let them out".
Donnelly posted on Twitter on Tuesday evening: "People talking about my interview like they know what’s going on, I didn’t want to do it in the first place cause the way I was before and after the game.
"Emotions are high and clearly I let them out.. Less of them interviews and more goals."
Donnelly had earlier joked about his post-match interview, tweeting on Monday night: "Great 3 points tonight hahaha that interview makes me laugh."
The win saw Glentoran leapfrog Cliftonville into second place in the Irish Premiership, three points behind Linfield.
