As the NFL calendar draws further away from the Super Bowl and inches closer to the draft, Jason Kelce's future remains a question mark.
Kelce has been the subject of retirement speculation since the end of the 2022 season. That talk intensified following the Philadelphia Eagles' playoff loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in January, a defeat that left Kelce visibly emotional on the sidelines.
The Eagles star then reportedly told teammates that he would be hanging up the cleats, but has since left things up in the air.
During an appearance on the Superfly podcast with Dana Carvey and David Spade, Kelce was asked what his next step would be.
“I don’t know. I’m trying to figure it out right now. Right now, exploring different opportunities if I end up retiring. Still working out and staying in shape if I end up playing again," Kelce said.
For what it’s worth, Kelce’s Eagles teammate and fellow offensive lineman Jordan Mailata told NBC Sports Philadelphia’s John Clark that there is “no shot” Kelce returns in 2024.
Kelce, who co-hosts the New Heights podcast alongside his brother Travis, reportedly met with Fox and ESPN about a broadcasting career earlier in February during the week of the Super Bowl.
The 36-year old has spent 13 seasons in the NFL, earning Pro Bowl honors seven times while winning a Super Bowl with the Eagles back in 2018.
