The 11-month tennis season is grueling. It is the longest season in professional sports. Players must live it up during their brief vacation before training begins for the 2025 Australian Open in mid-January.
The Italian tennis players had the longest season of anyone. The men’s and women’s teams won their respective titles: the Davis Cup for the men (for the second straight year) and the Billie Jean King Cup for the women.
In addition, Jasmine Paolini (and partner Sara Errani) won Olympic gold in women’s doubles, and World No. 1 Jannik Sinner won two Grand Slams and had the best season of his young career.
These Italian tennis players deserve a break for all of the above reasons. We recently saw how Paolini and Sinner are spending their time away from the tennis court.
Jasmine Paolini Is Slip-Sliding Away
Paolini is on a huge slide enjoying herself on vacation. The French Open and Wimbledon finalist always has a smile on her face. This is part of what makes her so likable.

Jannik Sinner Is Trying A New Sport
Sinner barely lost on the tennis court in 2024 (73-6) so it seems natural that he would want to decompress by trying a different sport. That sport is golf. Judging from his driving range shot posted on social media (and his dad’s reaction to it), it is comforting to know that Jannik Sinner is a mere mortal in a sport other than tennis.

Sinner was stoic for much of the season because of the doping case, presumed to be resolved but subject to reevaluation in 2025. It is wonderful to see him enjoy a light-hearted moment with his dad.
