Aly Goni is taking time off on New Year’s to be in the company of his family and lady love, Jasmin Bhasin. Ushering in 2023 in his hometown, surrounded by the ones he loves, Aly says, “Jasmin has been a constant part of my life and understands me well. I am going to start the New Year with her and my family. We will be celebrating New Year’s Day in my hometown Jammu with my family.”
‘I'm not on a break from TV, but being selective about choosing my work’
Last seen on TV as a Bigg Boss 14 contestant, Aly is being selective about choosing his work on TV now. He vies, “TV can get monotonous at times, not just in terms of stories but also characters.” However, he is not taking a break from the medium, he clarifies. “I have not taken a break from TV, but I am not accepting any projects. While TV needs a long commitment, I feel I am at an age where I can explore other mediums and prove myself as an actor.”
'TV stories can get repetitive'
Aly, whose biggest show on TV has been the show, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, says the entertainment industry has evolved a great deal, but it has its shortcomings too. “TV will always be the audience’s medium and no matter what, it is not going anywhere. However, I feel it can get repetitive. I have observed that if a story works on a show, everyone tries to add it to their show in one way or the other. Even the characters tend to get repetitive and actors have to choose their role very carefully for TV,” he says.
‘Looking forward to doing a good web series’
“OTT has exposed us to a wide variety of content from thrillers, murder mysteries, and new-age stories, to romance and family dramas. TV too is taking inspiration from it,” he says, adding, “While OTT appeals to the audiences more, in Bollywood we still can’t predict what will work for audiences. And the same is the case with TV. I’m happy with my career graph, I am looking forward to doing a good web series to showcase my talent.”
