Jared Verse is in the company of Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow and 2 other stars with this PFF stat

There are a lot of stats that show Jared Verse is having a fantastic rookie season for the Los Angeles Rams. He’s Pro Football Focus’ eighth-best edge rusher in the NFL based on overall grade, his 68 total pressures are the fifth most of any player in the league and his 17 quarterback hits are five more than anyone else on the Rams.

As impressive as those numbers are, this stat from PFF and the company Verse keeps puts into perspective just how special the rookie outside linebacker has been.

According to PFF, Verse is one of five players in the league this season with at least 177 plays where he received a positive grade. The other four? Lamar Jackson, Jayden Daniels, Joe Burrow and Bijan Robinson.

Not only are those all offensive players who play just about every snap, but they’re certified stars in the NFL. And Verse is right there with them as the only defender in the group.

Verse is on his way to having a decorated career in the NFL, one filled with Pro Bowl selections, All-Pro nods and potentially a Defensive Player of the Year award like Aaron Donald.

Once he cleans up his tackling and keeps developing his pass-rush repertoire, he’s going to be an even bigger headache for opposing offensive linemen. He’s just scratching the surface 15 games into his career.
