The Chicago Bears will start the 2023 NFL season in a big way against the Green Bay Packers Sunday at Soldier Field, which kicks off a new chapter in the rivalry.
Safety Jaquan Brisker missed last year’s Bears-Packers game at Soldier Field (Week 13) with a concussion, and he’s itching to get an opportunity to get to play his arch rival at home.
Buy Bears Tickets“I didn’t get to play last year the second game here in Chicago, so I didn’t really get the feel of that,” Brisker said. “I wasn’t even at the stadium. But now, I can’t (wait), I’m itching (to play). It’s Packers week. I know it’s going to be loud in the stadium, fans everywhere. You know it’s going to be loud … so, I can’t wait. They didn’t get to see me last year. They’re going to get to see me this year, though.”
And while it’s only his second year in the league, Brisker is already heavily invested in this rivalry.
“People hate Green Bay,” he said. “I hate Green Bay.”

Sunday’s game will mark the start of a new chapter in this rivalry following the departure of Aaron Rodgers, who’s now with the New York Jets. The Bears will look to break an eight-game losing streak against the Packers, who are 23-3 in the rivalry dating back to 2011.
Brisker’s status for Sunday’s game is up in the air as he recovers from a soft tissue injury that sidelined him for the last three weeks. But Brisker believes he’ll be ready to go. Wednesday will be a big indicator of whether we’ll see Brisker on Sunday.
