Patina, a new brand from ultra-luxe hotelier Capella, has made a statement with the location of its first property – it doesn’t get much better than winning the award for Best New Hotel on the 50 Best Hotels 2026 list. Location-wise, it’s pretty perfect: the hotel sits slap-bang opposite Osaka Castle, one of Japan’s most famous landmarks; the castle sits within a square kilometre of lush greenery and is surrounded by moats.
