A social media post about a janitor who allegedly accumulated more than twice the net worth of his company's CEO despite earning a fraction of his salary has sparked discussion about wealth, debt and financial discipline. The story, shared by a user on X, describes how the 63-year-old cleaner built an estimated €650,000 (approximately Rs 7 crore)in net worth through property ownership and long-term investments, while the CEO's wealth was reportedly about €300,000 after accounting for his assets and outstanding loans.
According to the post, the contrast became apparent shortly before the janitor, identified as Antonio, retired after nearly three decades of cleaning the same offices. Although the company's CEO earned around €180,000 annually and owned expensive vehicles and properties, the janitor had paid off his home, owned two rental apartments and invested his savings over more than 20 years.
