Janey Godley undergoes chemotherapy ahead of Dundee gig in health update

Scottish comedian Janey Godley updated fans on her cancer treatment as she bravely goes through another round of chemo ahead of her Dundee gig tonight.

On Tuesday, the 62-year-old confessed on Tuesday that she was giving up the jelly sweets and strawberry tarts as she was told by doctors that she "must lose weight".

And today, Janey provided her loyal fleet of fans with an update on her health as she braves another bout of the chemotherapy for her ovarian cancer. That hasn't stopped the Scots star from soldiering on in true Janey style, as she often quips that "the show must go on".

Taking to Twitter she said: "Chemo today - Dundee tonight! Am on a diet," as she shared a sad face and video of her lying in the hospital bed wired up with a cannula at Glasgow's Beatson Cancer centre.

"It's me getting my chemo again today and then I am off to Dundee for two nights as soon as this chemo is done," Janey said in the video.

She quipped: "I am on a diet because I am quite fat, I'm only allowed a yoghurt," as she smirked and showed off her yoghurt pot beside the bed.

"Nae more cakes, nae more jelly sweeties or biscuits..... I hate the world." Janey pouted as the camera cut off.

Fans took to the social media post to wish Janey well. One person wrote: "Good luck and all the best Janey! Sending healing energy."

"Your energy is inspiring. Looking forward to Sunday!," added another social media user.

Someone else said: "Sending lots and LOTS of love to you Janey! xx"

"Don’t hate the world. You make it a better place. I’m getting It’s a Wonderful Life vibes," added someone else giving the Comic some positive words of wisdom.

One comic quipped: "Sending positive energy Janey, I’ll take one for the team and have a cake for you."

The Scots comedian is currently taking on a UK comedy tour whilst still receiving chemotherapy in between shows. She confirmed to her fans the heartbreaking news in December that her cancer had returned despite getting the all-clear in June last year.
