Janey Godley shares emotional birthday video after making it 'another year'

Janey Godley has taken to Twitter to share an emotional message with fans after celebrating 'another year'.

It is the comedian's 62nd birthday today, an age she never thought she would 'make it' to.

Janey announced last December her ovarian cancer, which she was initially diagnosed with in 2021, had returned and that she needed further chemotherapy.

She said: "Today is my birthday, I have finally reached 62.

"I never thought I'd make it. This whole last year going through chemotherapy and surgery for the ovarian cancer.

"But I made it another year. Who knows how long I'm going to last? I don't think I'm going to last as long as I wanted to because ovarian cancer is treatable but it's not curable."

The comic, who is set to go on tour next month, praised health workers for their help and thanked fans for their support during her battle with cancer.

Janey added: "I want to thank the Scottish NHS, the Beatson for this whole year of treatment, chemotherapy, and maintenance treatment, and thanks everybody who has been supporting me.

"I got a lovely knitting set and lots of crafting from Ashley, some nice gifts and I had my dinner tonight at Eusebi's.

"I never thought I'd see this year but I've made it one more year. That's all we can do is live every day for the day. I don't know how long I have left but I'm going to f***ing enjoy it, that's what I'm going to do.

"Thanks to everybody who has been sending me love and support."
