Janey Godley thanked the Clown Doctors personally for their work as she presented them with their award.
Janey who had joked that her pal was having an affair with Graeme Souness told the Clown Doctors. “I just want to say you are doing an amazing job.
"As someone who goes into hospital every week and is facing quite a lot of difficulty, having a good laugh in the ward is so important. I play ‘find the cannula’. Nobody likes that game and I always win. Thank you so much for bringing so much laughter to difficult situations.”
For more than 25 years, this troupe of fun-loving clowns have been helping to bring sunshine to thousands of sick children across Scotland proving laughter really is the best medicine.
Wearing bright yellow coats and shiny red noses, the clowns have brought joy to thousands of children in 27 hospitals, hospices, special schools and care homes across Scotland.
Janey also met up with Brian Cox on the night and thanked him for his homage to her now-famous Trump is a C*** sign on Succession as she gave him a big hug.
Janey's anti-Trump sign (“Trump is a c***”) went viral on social media when she protested at his visit to Scotland in 2016.
At the time, she said: "“I’m here to protest Trump because I think it’s important for women’s voices to be heard against someone who shows absolute disrespect for women,” she said.
“His policies are divisive and he has enabled racism and rightwing opinion across Europe as well as in the US. The Americans who voted for him have every right to do so, but wait until they get sick and need healthcare.”
