She said: "Been for my first chemo meeting and I am genuinely touched by the sheer amount of care, hope and information given to me by the team- thanks Scottish NHS.

"In preparation for the chemo, I am getting my hair cropped into a very short “Dench” look as there is so much of it, it will make it manageable".

She added: "I am looking forward to getting it cropped, I don’t know if I will do wigs, caps or bandanas - I am just glad to have the option to survive this cancer, I’ll cope with how I look in my own time I suppose".
