Janey Godley has revealed plans to cut off her hair as she is set to undergo chemotherapy.
The 61-year-old has had a tough start to the year and only a few weeks ago went under the knife to have a full hysterectomy after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer before Christmas.
And now in a social media update, the Scots comedian told her fans that she is going to cut off her hair before it starts falling out.
In a video to her fans, Janey also revealed that she has asked people to 'stop telling her horror stories about chemotherapy'.
She said: "Thought I would give you a wee update on what is happening... I spend my whole life talking about my womb! You get telt as a child not to talk about 'doonstairs' but it's aw I've ever f*****g spoke aboot!
"So yeah the scar is healing, the wound is healing. It's itchy, it's numb and it's weird!
"I've been for my chemotherapy meeting and I'm going to be getting chemo pretty soon and I'm going to be getting all my hair cut off so that when it does start falling out it's not going to be like a big mass, like a f*****g lion's mane trailing behind me!"
She added: "I've asked people to stop telling me horror stories about chemotherapy because that wasn't helpful so for the next 18/19 weeks (cause you get one chemo therapy and then three weeks off) so it's going to be about 18 or 19 weeks before this is all finished then they will scan me and let me know if the scary b********g cancer has spread anywhere else.
"I'm hoping it hasn't, I'm hoping that this all starts at the beginning of the year and as the year progresses I can get back to work."
Janey added: "So yeah I'm just looking forward to getting everything done, getting the chemotherapy done, looking after my nutrition, looking after my body and getting back on stage that's what I'm hoping for - getting rid of aw this hair! I can't wait to see how my hair grows in!
"Thank you for your support, you guys have been amazing, thank you!
Fans were quick to send their love to Janey after the update.
One wrote: "Bonnie Lassie, your beautiful locks with grow back and you’ll be Rapunzel once more. Lots of Love to You and Your Family - not forgetting the wee dug."
Another wrote: "Sending you so much love and remember laughter is the best medicine You have helped and continue to help a nation laugh through one of the scariest times these generations have seen since a world war. You got this and we’ve got you."
While one said: "Spring round the corner! (Statement, not an order)."
Following Janey's hysterectomy, she was then diagnosed with Stage 3b cancer which means the disease has spread beyond her ovaries which is why she will require further treatment.
The comedian revealed that thinking about her diagnosis had caused her to have short panic attacks as she processed the news.
