Jane Moore was forced to make an 'urgent' clarification during Tuesday's Loose Women as her co-stars were left in shock by the startling results of a viewer poll.
The second topic on the ITV discussion show's second show of this week, was whether or not presenter Jane and her colleagues seek approval from their in-laws. Kicking things off with her opinion, Frankie Bridge said that every since getting into her first relationship in her younger days, she'd always made an effort to get on with a boyfriend's family as it 'made life easier.' Taking a similar stance,. Loose Women colleague Denise too said she always strived to get on with her significant other's relatives, admitting that she thinks the close bond she has with husband Lincoln Townley's mum, helped her with the void left by the death of her own mam.
Taking things further, Denise said if she has been romantically involved with someone who had a fractured relationship with their family, she would be the one who'd make it her mission to try and 'mend' things, as Janet Street-Porter confessed to having some troubles with the four mothers in law she's had throughout her life.
As the panel discussed their personal experiences, viewers at home were given a chance to have their say in Tuesday's poll, with Jane revealing that 90% of those who got involved said they didn't like their in-laws. The result came as a massive shock to the panel, particularly Frankie, who exclaimed: "That's really high."
Jane cut to an ad break after revealing the poll results and, when cameras cut back to the studio a few minutes later, resumed proceedings by announcing that she had in fact read completely the wrong thing out and viewers weren't in fact asked whether they liked their in-laws, rather if they would actively seek their approval.
