Jane McDonald 'unlikely' to replace Phillip Schofield on ITV Dancing On Ice

Jane McDonald is unlikely to be Phillip Schofield’s replacement on ITV Dancing On Ice. The Channel 5 star stepped in to replace Phillip as host for the British Soap Awards on ITV following his affair scandal with a younger colleague.

Experts have said that it’s unlikely that ITV bosses will replace the 61-year-old on Dancing On Ice with Jane, reports Birmingham Live. PR expert Jordan James told Entertainment Daily!: “The This Morning couch isn’t the only empty space that needs to be filled, with Phillip Schofield’s not-so-graceful bowing out from television, with his gig on Dancing On Ice currently needing to be filled.

“Once another instance for the public to get a fill of the iconic Phillip-Holly dynamic, the show is now scrambling to find someone to fill the once-beloved star’s shoes.” He added: “Jane McDonald has been rumoured to be one of the potential co-hosts. While Jane is generally liked by the public, I think the show could do with drawing in a younger audience with a more well-known co-host.”

When she took over from Schofe on the British Soap Awards, Jane wrote: "I'm so excited to be this year's host for The British Soap Awards!!" She continued: "Everyone knows how much I LOVE my soaps, this year I’ve been honoured to be mentioned in Corrie, EastEnders and Emmerdale so this is just a dream come true.

"I can’t wait to see all our wonderful soap nominees and celebrate all their hard work with them - roll on the awards, I can’t wait!" In a statement organisers of the British Soap Awards said: "We're pleased to announce our host for The British Soap Awards 2023...the fabulous Jane McDonald!

"As a super huge soap fan she's in for a treat as we celebrate all our wonderful soaps in a star studded glittering event that airs this Tuesday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX."
