Jane McDonald has thrilled fans as she announced a 'first' as she plans her small screen return. The singer and TV star confirmed the return date for her popular series Holidaying with Jane McDonald - and it's just days away.
Posting on Twitter and Instagram, Jane revealed that she's going to be experiencing her first safari on the new run of her Channel 5 show. "Come and join me on Safari!," she started her message on social media before confirming: "A new series of Holidaying with Jane McDonald starts on Thursday, 27th April on @channel5_tv at 8pm."
She added: "In the first episode, I’ll be exploring Kenya and experiencing my first safari – including a night spent sleeping under the stars." And fans were quickly responding as they claimed the 'Queen is back'.

Jane's latest announcement comes not long after she made another exciting one last month. Taking to Instagram, she revealed that she’s been filming in a “stunning location”. Alongside a video, she wrote: "I’m filming in a stunning location this week. I can’t wait to share where I am with you… watch this space!!” she captioned the post.
In a video, the former Loose Women star said: "Hello everyone. Second day of filming today and this place is breathtaking. I’ve just been blown away. I really can’t wait for you to see this programme. See you soon!" And just days ago she posted to Instagram again saying she was back out filming.
"I’ve just started filming again in another stunning destination! So far it’s been a great first day," she wrote alongside a couple of glamourous snaps of herself posing in front of a gorgeous floral display.
Last year, Jane shared her plans to step back from the limelight following her recent heartache. The singer and TV star was left devastated last year when her beloved fiance, Ed Rothe, tragically died. Ed, a musician best known for being the drummer in Liquid Gold and later The Searchers, passed away in March 2021, aged 67, after a battle with lung cancer.
When asked by Kaye Adams on her How To Be 60 podcast if she is "aware of getting older" back in September, Jane responded: "I'm looking forward to it. Because I can slow down. I've achieved so many things in my life already, that I never thought I would. And I've got a really great circle of friends. So it's time now to have a bit of fun. And I've not really had much fun, because I've worked constantly, constantly for as long as I can remember.
"And I'm not touring next year or the year after. So you've got an exclusive there because they only think I'm only doing one year, but I'm now doing two. Because I want to have a bit of downtime, I'll still be doing all the TV shows. And that's great. You know, I love that. But the touring I found now is harder than it used to be. And, and I'm thinking well, why? Why are you doing it, just have a bit of a break and see how you feel."
