Jane Fonda says Jennifer Lopez 'never apologised' after movie slap left her injured

Jane Fonda says Jennifer Lopez 'never apologised' after slapping her leaving her with a cut above her eye.

The star was talking about when she filmed an iconic scene from her 2005 rom-com Monster-in-Law with J-Lo when she open up about being injured.

The scene features the iconic duo going back and fourth slapping each other, but one blow left Jane with a cut.

She recalled that Jennifer was wearing an "enormous diamond ring" during the scene which meant one slap cut her eyebrow.

However, she also said that J-Lo "never apologised" after the incident.

Jane appeared on Thursday's episode of The Drew Barrymore Show when she talked about filming the movie.

The 85-year-old said: " The thing that comes to mind right away is we have a slapping scene. I slap her, she slaps me. … Well Jennifer — as per Jennifer — she had this enormous diamond ring. And so, when she slapped me one of the times, it cut open across my eye, my eyebrow."

"She's never apologised," t he actress then claimed.

Jane plays the character of Viola Fields in the film, who plotted to stop her son (Michael Vartan) from marrying Charlie Cantilini (Lopez).

The slapping scene occurs after Viola shows up on the morning of the wedding wearing a white gown of her own.

It then turns into a fight between the women as they exchange multiple slaps.

During the scene Jane says: "You don't go and slap somebody and then apologise, get some backbone."

However, it seems that J-Lo had a different recollection to Fonda of what happened during the filming of that scene.

Speaking in a video posted to her YouTube channel back in 2019, Jennifer says she was "mortified" when her slap cut Jane's face.

She said: "I was like... so sorry."

Lopez said it was "one of the most fun scenes I've ever done."

"She really really went for it, and so did I, and then I punched her in the eye by mistake — right there — ouch," she added.

"We talked about how we were going to do this over and over again. I was so afraid to hit Jane Fonda in the face or hurt her in any way," the singer and actress said. "She was so brazen and [said] like, 'Just hit me, don't worry about it.'

She added: " The scene took on a life of its own. I just remember afterward Jane had a blood blister right at the top of her eye. My nail, like, went up into her eye.... She didn't care. She's such a gangster b****. I just love her."
