Jammu: Traffic cop gets applaud for helping differently-abled man to cross road

JAMMU: In a heartwarming incident, a Jammu traffic cop was seen helping a differently-abled man to cross the road outside at TCP Bypass Nagrota in city outskirts.

The picture of the incident was shared by some locals on their Whatsapp /FB account.

J&K Police has always been a winner among netizens for the atypical "Khakhi manner" reminding people about different safety rules and guidelines but this time the city police stole social media limelight for something different.

Social media enthusiasts and some policemen posted a heartwarming picture showing traffic cops helping a specially-abled man cross a road in the city outskirts.

In the picture, cops on duty Sgct Ravinder Kumar suddenly took a decision out of the way and could be seen lending a helping hand to a specially-abled man. The cop lifted the disabled pedestrian to cross the road at most busy junction of Jammu city i.e. TCP Bypass Nagrota.

Here it needs to be mentioned that HC Pran Nath and Sgct Ravinder Kumar were posted at TCP Nagrota when the incident happened.

This happened when the majority of commuters ignored the specially abled person on the road but the cops felt his need and helped him.

"Salute to our traffic cops, glaring examples for others to follow," said R R Ridhan, a pedestrian.

"Hats off to the policemen, there are still some values left," added Sunil Sharma, a trader at Nagrota while lauding the initiative undertaken by ‘men in blue.
