JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday busted a gang involved in printing of fake currency in Jammu outskirts -Ranbir Singh Pura by arresting three accused including a female, besides recovering fake currency worth Rs 1,70,000, one sharp edged weapon along with other material.
Sharing details, Sr Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu Chandan Kohli said: "Following a complaint lodged at P/S RS Pura of Jammu district by one Ashok Kumar of Ward -6 RS Pura stating therein that some persons are involved in making and circulating fake currency notes in the areas."
"On this case FIR was registered at PS RS Pura and investigation started," he said.
SSP Jammu said, "After this special police teams of P/S RS Pura led by SDPO RS Pura Nikhil Gogna assisted by SHO PS RS Pura Inspr Pawan Kumar and I/C BPP Agra Chak SI Sunil Kumar Thakur raided at the suspected location and arrested the suspected lady accused namely Jyoti Devi w/o Vinod Kumar of Devigarh Tehsil Suchetgarh A/P Chang Tehsil Ramgarh, Samba."
During questioning she disclosed that one Mohd Mustaq son of Mohd Aslam of Phinder RS Pura and her husband namely Vinod Kumar son of Jeet Raj purchased a coloured scanner cum printer cum photo state machine from Jammu city for making Indian fake currency notes approximately 6/7 months ago.
SSP Jammu added that, furthermore on the disclosure of accused Mohd Mustaq, around 54 pages of (Bond Super White Hi-Bright Papers) packed shape of rim along with one toka was recovered from his house at Phinder and the same property got seized.
"Whereas on the disclosure of accused namely Vinod Kumar, one coloured scanner cum printer cum photostat machine along with five colour bottles, Fake Indian Currency notes 500/500 and 200/200 total 1,70,900/- rupees; four nos of rim (Bond Super White Hi-Bright Papers) ½ rim of white papers A4 size got recovered from village Chang which accordingly were seized," SSP Jammu Kohli added.
"The overall operation was done under the supervision of SP Hqrs Ramnish Gupta," he said,
Further investigation of the case is going on.
