Jamie T has suprised fans with a huge show at London's Finsbury Park next year. In what will be his biggest headline gig to date, the show will celebrate the success of his recent No1 album, 'The Theory of Whatever'.
The 36-year-old singer-songwriter released the record last week after a near six-year absence from the music scene, shooting straight to number one. Following the announcement the musician tweeted: “My first ever number one album. And to celebrate we’re gonna be playing Finsbury Park next summer."
The 2023 headline gig will take place on June 30 2023, tickets for Finsbury Park go on general sale on Ticketmaster and SeeTickets this Friday August 5. Pre-sale tickets will be available on Wednesday August 3, for concert goers with O2 Priority.
An expected 45,000 people will be in the crowd for his headline event, for many this will be the first chance to catch a glimpse as his UK tour later this year has already sold out it many of its venues.
Jamie T, his real name Jamie Treays, shot to fame after recording his own music at home having listened to a variety of music styles at home in Wimbledon, South London. He released his first single 'Salvador' in 2004, before releasing his first EP Betty & the Selfish Sons.
Apart from his recent albumn success the closest he's got in the charts was No.2 for his 'Kings and Queens' album in 2009, which was built up and teased in the release of his 'Sticks 'n' Stones music video' - again showing fans his routes, the entire thing was shot in his hometown of Wimbledon.
Jamie's appearance at Finsbury Park is expected to be another sell out event in what has been a legendary return for the singer-songwriter.
